I thought i would share some with you, I did the 14 day beaches and reefs tour, which was amazing!!! we did it in may, and after we had booked it, everyone was saying that it would be cold and rainging, well it rained for a few days, but it definately didnt hold us back, and it was still really hot and sunny when the sun was shining, i got a tan, and thats saying something! My favirote part of the tour was the Whitsundays Islands, it was so beautifull, the whole time i was there i was pinching myself to make sure i wasnt dreaming, and then scuba diving at the great barrier reef was awesome, i will never forget it! here is a link to some tours in australia! http://www.backpackertours.co.uk/worldwide/tours-australia.htm

If you need any questions answered please email or phone me!

Charlotte :)
Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-54865399796615571042007-10-08T09:03:00.000-07:002007-10-08T09:44:40.610-07:00CHARLOTTEWell, i saw chloe had introduced herself and i havent so i thought i would so you all now who you are talking too... I love live music especially accoustic / Indie music and this summer went off to spend a (slighty wet) weekend in Chelmsford for the V festival. As you can see from the picture on the top left I had to wear a plastic 'emergency cagoule' (that looked more like a large bin bag) for most of the weekend! New Years Eve - starts for those brave enough at an exclusive party at the Corn Exchange - 11:00 (AM) sharp as it's midnight back in New Zealand - when then celebrate the New Year through all the time zones in Australia.

For those who are still on thier feet - it's back to the hotel for some rest (or maybe even something to eat) and then it's over to Princes Street to party with a crowd of over 100,000 and three music stages. Click here to get some of the last seats.

Got some time off before the holidays - we've still tours happening in England, Scotland Ireland and Europe.Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-1163778925943172362006-11-17T07:24:00.000-08:002006-11-17T07:55:26.496-08:00New Zealand Vs Wales in Cardiff
Well it's time for another weekend and we've got quite a bit happening on the Rugby front -
we've got groups over in Paris to party, see the city and most importantly watch the All Blacks (hopefully) crush the French on Saturday. We also have quite a few Aussies over in Dublin to see the wallabies take on Ireland at Lansdown Road over the weekend - hopefully all of the pubs in the area have remembered to double the amount of Guinness that they have on hand for both before and after the match.

It's everyones last chance to check out the Rugby with the most popular match being the All Blacks V Wales day tour departing on November 25th - we also have a few places left for the weekend break - it's a great package with transport and a hotel that is right next to the Millennium Stadium - the tour leaves London around 2 PM on Friday which will give you plenty of time to check into your hotel and hit the town for the night - you've got the match the following day and then another night out before a slow start on Sunday to head back to London. For those of you who haven't been - Cardiff has some the best nightlife in the UK whith clubs that are open until 5 AM and drinks at times half the price of what you pay in London.

For information about all of the remaining tour options click here.

Hey does anybody remeber the Nintendo NES console - probably the first of the new generation consoles where it didn't look like you were playing with a load of virtual legos it was the early 90's version of the Playstation. Well some bright spark has figured out a way to load them up onto the net and you can now play online for free - with all of the Mario Brother titles the original Bubble Bobble and Donkey Kongs games all available you're bound be on the computer for a couple of hours - click here to visit the site.

Catch you next week.Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-1163101985098857122006-11-09T09:36:00.000-08:002006-11-10T04:00:43.826-08:00Edinburgh for New Years Eve 2006 highwaymanWell its been a fairly busy week this week - some of the staff dug out and dusted off their 'Sundays Best' suits and frocks and off we went to one of the worlds biggest trade events - The World Travel Market which occurs once a year at the ExCel Centre in the Docklands. For a few of the staff it was a first time experience (not as exciting as say ...... Tomatina in Spain but hey we do have to occasionally do some work) and for others (like myself - old) it was the 9th or 10th time we have visited. It used to be held in good old Earls Court which -

A. Is much easier to get to.

and

B. Has much better pubs just outside.

At any rate it's a huge show - with most countries in the world represented as well as a lot of the 'big names' in the travel industry - airlines, hotel chains, car rental firms, etc. For us it's a chance for us to meet up with some of overseas agents and see some of our suppliers to negotiate next years rates for accommodation and other bit and pieces. What we also do is bit of window shopping - if we see something we personally would like do - we check on trade rates and arrange for a couple of us to go out (strictly for research purposes you understand ;p) for closer and see if it's the type of event or place for us to start to put together a package - until we've been there and done it ourselves we won't bring a group out to experience it. All in all it can take a couple of years to put together a good event - but when they come off - it's well worth the effort - when they go pear shaped it's before we take any clients so it's only the staff at risk (no one mention Russia or Estonia last year OK)

Right calling all All Blacks Supporters - all of coach tours for France are now sold out - so if your coming to show your support you'll need to either make your own way to Paris for one of accommodation only packages (almost sold out as well) or treat yourself and take the Eurostar. We've also still got All Blacks V Wales seats left - a day tour to Cardiffs Millennium Stadium that I can guarantee you a good time on so book your tickets and keep November 25th free in your diary. Click here for tour details.

Right for all you blokes out there that have managed to hold there ladies over the summer (a couple of relationship casualties in this office I could tell you about - all self inflicted) if you are planning on taking them up to Edinburgh to celebrate New Years Eve (otherwise known as Hogmanay) the double rooms are already sold out in a couple of the hotels and rest are starting to go quick - so if you were planning on going and looking to have a good time in the hotel as well as away from it you need to get your skates on and book now - for details of all of our Hogmanay Tours click here. Book soon or you may end up in a dorm room which is fine if it's you and the boys wanting to party - not so good if you and the missus are looking for some (so called) quality time together.Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-1162812219619038812006-11-06T03:13:00.000-08:002006-11-06T03:23:39.660-08:00FireworksWhat a weekend -

Half of the office headed down to the West Country for Tarbarrels - which is basically a a bunch of mad (somewhat inbred) Devon folk who like to put barrels stuffed with tar and straw on thier backs then light them on fire and run for as long as they can - up and down the streets of as tiny village which has been packed with around 30,000 people - it is truely a mad night.

The rest of us heaeded up to Cardiff for the Rugby - and what a match it was! In the end nothing separated the Welsh and Aussies. There were a few sore heads on Sunday morning however most of us made it down to the pub to watch New Zealand crush England. There's still time for you to yourselves to a International Match - tickets and packages are selling fast - click here to see what we still have on offer.Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-1161288447524689532006-10-19T12:42:00.000-07:002006-10-20T00:25:39.980-07:00We're Back Join us for International Rugby in NovemberRight - were back.

Sorry for the rather long break between blogs - it's been a hectic summer. In Europe, this evolved into the ancient celebration of Saturnalia, a great Roman winter festival, where people celebrated completely free of restraint and inhibition. The Vikings celebrated Yule, which later became the Twelve Days of Christmas, or the "Daft Days" as they were sometimes called in Scotland. The winter festival went underground with the Protestant Reformation and ensuing years, but re-emerged near the end of the 17th century.

Now days Hogmanay in Edinburgh is the largest organized New Years celebration in the world. And we include wristbands to the Royal Bank Street Party on New years eve with all of packages. The party's 100,000 revellers are guaranteed a sizzling line-up with artists including Hard-Fi, Sons and Daughters and Hayseed Dixies on the only date of their European tour. This years Concert in the Gardens boasts a phenomenal line-up featuring Scottish artists Texas and KT Tunstall with El Presidente.

The Night Afore International on Friday 30 December will see the largest celebration of Caledonian and Catalonian culture ever experienced in Scotland, featuring a 150 strong human tower, 250 Catalan Street Theatre performers and a riotous Catalan Parade.

We'll leave you with a link to some of your favorite old school arcade games that you can now play online for free - Joust, Defender, Robotron and Rampage plus load of others click here and prepare to lose at least an hour of your time.Backpacker Tour Companyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17807472658442707041noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19268710.post-1139572727140562042006-02-10T03:08:00.000-08:002006-02-10T03:58:47.170-08:00La Tomatina - The World's Biggest Food FightAfternoon all of you out there on the interweb type thing -

Well we have finally sorted out all the details for a unique experience - La Tomatina - basically it's the worlds largest foodfight - some where around 30,000 gather in small Spanish village and at around 11:00 125,000 kilos of ripe tomatoes are dropped in the middle of town and the insanity begins.

It's absolutely chaos for around an hour before everyone helps tidy up the town, cleans themselves up and then start to Party - the tours are at the end of August and you can see all of them by clicking here.

I've added the most popular tour itinerary below - enjoy your weekend.

Tuesday 29th August 2006
Our tour group meets at Heathrow Airport bright and early [9am] where you will be greeted by your tour leader and the rest of your traveling companions.
